HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks ended the morning session 0.57 percent lower Wednesday following healthy gains over the past two days, while Wall Street’s three main indexes all suffered heavy losses.
The Hang Seng Index fell 162.18 points to 28,087.68 on turnover of HK$84.55 billion ($10.91 billion).
But the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.16 percent, or 7.89 points, to 4,918.79.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, added 0.38 percent, or 11.10 points, to 2,895.76.
