Hong Kong: Stocks extend gains at open

HONG KONG:Hong Kong stocks on Friday built on the previous day’s surge, tracking a positive lead from Wall Street on hopes for China-US trade talks while news of a slowdown in US inflation lowered expectations for interest rate tightening.

The Hang Seng Index added 0.80 per cent, or 215.30 points, to 27,229.79 in early trade.
