HONG KONG: Hong Kong equities fell 0.48 per cent in the opening minutes of trade Friday after debt reform talks between Greece and its creditors again ended without any breakthrough.
The Hang Seng Index eased 129.66 points to 27,016.09.
Chinese shares were sharply lower owing to concerns they are overvalued after a surge over the past year.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index slumped 3.11 per cent, or 140.92 points, to 4,386.86.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, plunged 3.34 per cent, or 90.82 points, to 2,625.89.
