HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks ended the morning session higher Monday as investors await the release of crucial Chinese indicators this week with fears that another round of weak results will fuel fresh market volatility.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index added 0.22 percent, or 45.13 points to 20,885.74.
In Shanghai the composite benchmark index added 0.87 percent, or 27.65 points, to 3,187.82 after an extended holiday weekend.
And the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, jumped 3.08 percent, or 51.50 points, to 1,725.45.
