HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks have opened 0.29 per cent higher after record-setting gains on Wall Street and relief over a Greek debt deal.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index on Wednesday gained 72.21 points to 24,822.28 points.
Chinese shares were slightly higher, the first trading day after a week-long holiday, as the market awaited the release of preliminary manufacturing data for February, dealers said.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.10 per cent, or 3.19 points, to 3,250.10.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, edged up 0.08 per cent, or 1.31 points, to 1,612.04.
