HONG KONG: Hong Kong slipped 0.22 per cent in the first few minutes of trade on Monday following a sell-off on Wall Street at the end of last week.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index eased 51.81 points to 23,771.40.
But in mainland China, the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.54 per cent, or 18.25 points, to 3,391.16.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, gained 0.68 per cent, or 11.60 points, to 1,719.68.
