HONG KONG: Shares in Hong Kong slipped soon after opening Tuesday, in line with a broad regional retreat on worries about the global economy fanned by China’s growth slowdown.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong eased 0.13 per cent, or 30.28 points, to 23,045.33.
And the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.27 per cent, or 9.15 points, to 3,377.55.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, eased 0.10 per cent, or 2.06 points, to 1,967.58.
