NEW DELHI: The HTC Desire 626G+ Smartphone has announced for sale in India and the handset is also accompanied by an affordable retail tag of Rs 16900. This release is a mid-range option and is basically a version of the original 626 phone which was launched during the MWC 2015 in March.

The HTC Desire 626G+ can be considered as a regional model and while it looks the same as the original phone, it does have slightly different specs. The latter was launched as an affordable LTE option, but the Indian version doesn’t have 4G and it delivers HSPA+ with dual SIM card slots, instead.

And in place of a 1.2GHz quad core 64-bit Snapdragon 410 SOC, the company has gone with an undisclosed octa core processor clocked at 1.7GHz. Apart from these changes, no other alterations have been carried out on the new HTC Smartphone. Visuals continue to arrive through a 5-inch 720p HD IPS display.

And there are dual front-facing stereo speakers as well, accompanied by a 5MP Selfie shooter. Flip over to the rear, and you’ll see a 13MP imager with an LED flash. Despite being a new release, the Desire 626G+ still runs on the good old Android 4.4 KitKat OS coated with Sense 6. Other features of the phone include a disappointing 1GB RAM, 8GB storage, a microSD card slot and a 2000mAh battery.
