Huge numbers of beauty cream packs seized by ASO Jacobabad

HYDERABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organizations (ASO) Hyderabad of Customs Preventive Jacobabad check-post confiscated foreign origin non-duty-paid smuggled 5,184 pieces of beauty cream worth Rs518400 including duties and taxes of Rs301190 during a raid on the area of Jacobabad check-post.

During the month of July 2017-18, Collector Hyderabad Akhlaq Ahmad Khattaq directed his staff that smuggling attempts should be aborted in the region. The ASO team, under the supervision of Additional Collector Rehmatulah Vistro, conducted an operation in the area of Sukkar-Larkana-Jacobabad check-post and recovered the said contraband item.

The raiding team asked the driver for producing the legal documents of the import of above said item, but he failed to do so. The creams were confiscated. The ASO team registered separate cases of smuggling against the accused persons and forwarded the cases to the customs adjudications.

After a seizure report, the ASO team deposited the impounded foreign origin non-duty-paid smuggled pieces of abovementioned contraband item into Sukkur State Warehouse.

The raiding team comprised In-charge Aziz Katpar, Inspector Nasarullah Gilal, Inspector Agha Nazeer, Inspector Abdul Rauf Bhutto, Sepoys and Driver.
