Human smuggler arrested for getting Rs1.5m for US visa

ISLAMABAD: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a human smuggler Muhammad Afzal from Lahore for his alleged involvement in getting Rs 1.5 million for United States (US) visa.

The accused collected the amount from Ismail Lal, resident of Lahore and provided fake bank statement, fake National Tax Number (NTN) certificate and fake Italian schengen visa.

Anti Human Trafficking Cell of FIA has registered a case and is investigating the matter on complaint of US embassy.

Meanwhile, the FIA also arrested seven Proclaimed Offenders (POs) under its campaign against human traffickers. The Lahore Circle of Anti-Human Trafficking Cell of FIA nabbed four POs, three Court Absconders (CAs) and one agent. The Gujranwala Circle of FIA arrested three POs, six CAs and seven Land Route Agents (LRA) during the period.
