Human trafficker sentenced to 15-year imprisonment

FAISALABAD: Special Central Judge Sohaib Ahmed Romi sent an accused to jail who was involved in human trafficking. The accused set up his offices in different areas of Faisalabad city.

Federal Investigation Agency’s Deputy Director Syed Imam Ali Zaidi raided the office of the accused and arrested him. The accused used to run an illegal business of sending innocent people abroad after taking big amounts from them. An FIR No: 30/2013 was registered against him under Section (U/S), 17/22 E.O 1979 on victim’s application.

The accused had taken Rs930000 from a complainant Muhammad Munir Ahmed, a resident of Jhang city, for sending him to Korea on employment visa but he failed.

Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Assistant Director Legal Choudhary Mazar Ullah presented accused Abdul Hameed, a resident of Samanabad, Faisalabad, to the Special Central Judge and submitted a challan against him. He was sentenced to 15-year imprisonment and a fine of Rs700000 by the special central judge.
