FBR has conveyed to the non-filer parliamentarians to file the income tax returns, as it has to follow the directions of the Ministry of Finance for publication of the Tax Directory by February 15. In case of non-filing of returns, the tax status of parliamentarians would be declared as non-filer in the Tax Directory by February 15, 2013.

Sources said that FBR has deputed tax officers in parliament lodges of the Senate, National Assembly and Provincial Assemblies to facilitate the parliamentarians in filing of their income tax returns. The respective Regional Tax Offices across the country are also guiding the parliamentarians in proper filing of returns. Even if the parliamentarians file returns in the next few days, the data would be incorporated in the Tax Directory.
