BUDAPEST: The Hungarian unit of British American Tobacco (BAT) is planning to hire another 100 employees in addition to the 100 new hires it announced earlier, Attila Tóth, manager in charge of corporate and government relations of BAT Pécsi Dohánygyár said yesterday, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.
A HUF 2 bln development to increase cigarette production capacity at the company’s plant in central Pécs, southwestern Hungary, has enabled the company to hire 100 employees, while an additional 100 employees will be hired at the same plant for a specified period until May 2016 to ensure a successful switch-over to the new European Union tobacco products directive, the manager said.

At the end of last year the company employed 600 workers in the country including 450 at its two factories in Pécs, MTI says.
