Chairman József Béres, whose father invented the companyʼs flagship product, said Béres Gyógyszergyár has so far invested HUF 3.3 bln at its Szolnok unit, acquired in 1995. The company employs 340 including the 215 at the Szolnok plant.
The company has funded its developments primarily from internal sources, supplemented with HUF 296 mln in government funding obtained through tenders. Béres Gyógyszergyár, founded as a family business 25 years ago, is known in Hungary for manufacturing immune boosters. It controls 35% of that market, Béres said.
