Hungary’s trade surplus reaches €673 mln in November

BUDAPEST: Hungary’s exports were up by a year-on-year 6.5% and imports by a year-on-year 7.7% in November, in euro terms, according to a first release of data published by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) this morning.

KSH reported that the balance of the trade surplus dropped by €36 million, while in the first eleven months of 2015, the euro value of exports and imports increased by 7.3% and 6% respectively.

For the month of November, exports reached €8.1 billion (HUF 2.521 trillion) and imports €7.4 bln (HUF 2.311 tln). The balance of the trade surplus reached €673 million (HUF 210 bln), with the share of European Union Member States at 81% for exports and 76% for imports, according KSH.

Data by KSH also show that, in euro terms, exports increased by a year-on-year 6.5% and imports by a year-on-year 7.7% in November. For the period of January to November 2015, exports reached €83.9 bln (HUF 25.952 tln), while imports amounted to €76.4 bln (HUF 23.647 tln) and the surplus on the trade balance was €7.4 bln (HUF 2.306 tln).

Compared to a year earlier, exports were up by 7.3% and imports by 6%, in euro terms, for the period of January to November 2015. Additionally, the surplus on the trade balance grew by a year-on-year €1.4 billion for the above mentioned period, KSH added.
