Hyderabad ASO confiscates contraband items worth Rs 19m in June 2015

HYDERABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate Hyderabad Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) seized smuggled Iranian diesel, cell phones, shampoos, electric iron and vehicles including oil tankers valued at Rs 19.06 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 11.8 million in June 2015.

Official said that the ASO impounded five non-duty paid vehicles including Toyota Land Cruiser bearing Registration No. 3149 worth Rs1 million involving duty/taxes Rs 400,000, unregistered Mitsubishi Lancer car worth Rs 1 million, Toyota X Corolla car valued at Rs 1.2 million, Toyota Corolla Axio car, Toyota Crown Salon.

Besides, ASO confiscated 145,000 litres of smuggled Iranian diesel and impounded two oil tankers being used for the transportation of the diesel.

Meanwhile, 2526 bottles of shampoo worth Rs 612,800, mobile phone accessories filled in eight cartons worth Rs 191,440, 67 cartons of shampoo valued at Rs 687,850, 192 units of electronic iron worth Rs 360,000 and other contraband items were held by ASO Hyderabad in different operations.

ASO team on instruction of Collector Dr Ahmed Mujtaba Memon under the supervision of Additional Collector Omer shafique comprising Superintendent Sikander Akbar Pahnwar, Seizing officer Khair Mohammad Pathan, Ispector Momin Shah, Mohammad Ali Lohar, Waqar Ahmed Baig, Shafi Mohammad jamali and others took part in operation.
