Hyderabad ASO impounds two vehicles worth Rs 2 million

HYDERABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) has impounded two non-duty paid and unregistered vehicles worth Rs 2 million, involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 2.4 million, in a recent action.

According to details, the ASO team on the instructions of Model Customs Collectorate Hyderabad Collector Dr Ahmed Mujtaba Memon under the supervision of Additional Collector Omer Sahfique conducted an operation to hold the non-duty paid vehicles in the region.

The ASO team intercepted an unregistered Toyota Corolla Axio car near Behar Road, Hyderabad, while the other vehicle, Mitsubishi Lancer, was held near Giddu Chowk, Hyderabad.

The raiding party asked the owners to produce documents regarding the legal possession of the vehicles, but they could not produce any document, on which the ASO impounded the vehicles following the customs laws.

After making the seizure reports, both the vehicles will be submitted to the state warehouse in Hyderabad.
