Hyderabad ASO seizes contraband items worth Rs 1.1m

HYDERABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) of the Model Customs Colllectorate has seized six cartons of perfumes and 12 cartons of cigarettes worth Rs 717,600 involving duty taxes Rs648866.

Additional Collector Rehmat Ullah Vistro told Customs Today that ASO conducted raid on the instructions of Customs Collector Aghah Shahid Majeed. The ASO team was formed under the supervision of Additional Collector Umar Shafique and Deputy Superintendent Sikander Akbar Pahnwar. The team formed checkpoints at the main entry and exit points of the city and started checking vehicles.

During the checking of vehicles the ASO team intercepted a vehicle near bypass, Hyderabad. During the checking of the vehicles the team recovered 06 cartons of perfume and 12 cartons of cigarette.

The official asked the driver to produce any legal document about the possession of said items but accused couldn’t able to produce any legal documentary evidence of the said perfume and cigarette.

Therefore the ASO officials seized the smuggled items. Official said that the value of seized items is more Than Rs 717600.

In another action, The Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO), Hyderabad has seized 15 bag of smuggled Indian Gutka worth Rs388500 during a successful raid.

According to details the ASO team formed under the supervision of Additional Collector Umar Shafique. The team formed check posts at the point and started the checking of vehicle. During the checking the intercepted a vehicles which was moving to Karachi.  Customs officials seized the items worth Rs388500 involving duty taxes Rs180,264.
