Hyderabad ASO seizes goods valued Rs22.656m during nine days of May

HYDERABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Hyderabad impounded smuggled items worth Rs22.656million during different operations during nine days of May 2017.

The ASO team, following instructions of Collector Akhlaq Ahmad Khattaq, conducted various operations in Hyderabad and confiscated smuggled items under the supervision of Additional Collector Rahmatulah Vistro. The ASO has confiscated smuggled goods including 15,000 liters of Iranian diesel (HSD) along with an oil tanker with registration No: TTB-687 worth Rs675000 involving duty taxes of Rs335407, a non-duty-paid Toyota Hilux surf valued one million rupees, foreign origin 60 bundles weighed 5115 kg and measured 222.000 meters of shirting cloth valued Rs3.8million, foreign origin smuggled 112 Nos of used diesel pumps worth Rs896000 involving duty taxes of Rs572992, contraband items of 109 cartons of cigarettes including 10 cartons of pine light, 49 cartons of Royal Business and 50 cartons of Reds Virginia brands priced Rs2.2million including duty taxes of Rs3.1million while smuggled 100 cartons of pine light brand cigarettes besides an impounded vehicle worth Rs one million rupees involving duty taxes of Rs14 million inclusive duty and taxes of Rs2.26 and 56.498 respectively during said period.

Collector Akhlaq Ahmad Khttaq formed a new team of Superintendent Shabir Phulpoto who foiled the smuggling attempt and seized worth millions of rupees goods in Hyderabad.

The team, comprising Inspectors Imdad Ali Abro, Abdul Razaq, Ajaz Ali Mastoi, Asaduddin Mirza, Shafi Muhammad Jamali, Mushtaq Ali Lakho, Sepoys Ghulam Sarwar, Muhammad Ayuob, Neonmal, Abid Ali, Abdul Razaq, Muhram Thebo, Hawaldar Umar Solongi, Driver Ajaz, Nisar Ahemdani and Sher Akbar, took part in the operations.
