Hyderabad ASO seizes smuggled body sprays worth Rs482694

HYDERABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has confiscated foreign origin 41 cartons of body spray perfume valued Rs482694 involving duty/taxes of Rs224433 during an action in Hyderabad.

Following the instructions of Hyderabad Customs Collector Agha Shahid Majeed Khan, the ASO team, under the supervision of Additional Collector Omer Shafique, conducted some operations in the region to curb smugglings.

The team raided a vehicle near Hala Naka and seized 41 cartons of body spray perfume allegedly being smuggled from Karachi into Hyderabad. A case has been registered against the accused under the customs bylaws.

After making a seizure report, the ASO team deposited the confiscated cartons into Hyderabad State Warehouse.

The raiding team comprised Superintendent Sikander Akbar Pahnwar, Deputy Superintendent Anwar Ahmed Siddiqui. Inspector Asadudin Mirza, Inspector Muhammad Iqbal Mughal, Inspector Shakeel Khan, Sepoys Essa, Hawaldar Ayoub Muhammad Ahmed, Drivers Sadiq Khaskheli, Jawaid Maskoor and others.

Meanwhile, Additional Collector Omer Shafique, while talking to Customs Today, said the department was striving to increase the surveillance of suspects in the region as more checkposts had also been established to foil the smuggling bids.
