Hyderabad ASO seizes smuggled cigarettes worth Rs 282,500

HYDERABAD: A team of the Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO), following the instructions of Collector Hyderabad Dr Ahmed Mujtaba Memon, conducted different operations in the Region to curb smuggling.

Sources told Customs Today that the ASO has seized smuggled 12 cartons of cigarette pine deluxe king size, marble international, pine light king size filter, and Ashima luxury size  worth Rs 282,500 during an action in Hyderabad

Sources said that the ASO team took action on Khyber Mail in Hyderabad railway station and seized cigarettes which were allegedly being smuggled from Rohari to Hyderabad.

The seized six cartons of marble filter deluxe king size cigarette valued Rs 147, 500 involving duty taxes of Rs 77,068, two cartons of marble international worth  Rs 50,000 duty taxes Rs 26,125,  two cartons of Ashima luxury size valued Rs 45,000 involving duties and taxes of Rs 23,512  and two cartons of pine light cigarette worth Rs 40,000 having duties and taxes of Rs 20,900.

After making seizure report the ASO team deposited to the confiscated cigarette Hyderabad state ware House . The team of ASO comprising Superintendent Sikander Akbar Phanwar, Deputy Superintendent Anwar Ahmed Siddiqui, Inspector Waqar Ahmed Baig, Inspector Syed Nazim Ali which took part in the operation.
