HYDERABAD: Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Hyderabad’s Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) impounded an oil tanker carrying 60,000 liters smuggled diesel worth Rs 4.4 million.
Sources informed Customs Today that an ASO team under the supervision of MCC Hyderabad Additional Collector Omar Shafique intercepted the oil tanker bearing registration no. TLE -229 near Umer Kot at Mirpur khas Road and seized smuggled diesel worth Rs 4.4 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 8,74,128 besides impounding the vehicle worth Rs 2 million.
ASO team comprising Deputy Superintendent Sikandar Akbar Panhwar, Seizing Officer Khair Muhammad Pathan, Inspector Momin Shah seizing officer and others conducted operation against the diesel smuggling.
Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) of MCC Hyderabad is taking effective measures to swoop down the menace of smuggling of Iranian diesel and other items.
