Hyderabad Customs Adjudication recovers Rs 27m

HYDERABAD: Customs Adjudication Collector Imtiaz Ahmed Shiek settled four cases during first half of December, 2015 and recovered Rs 27.34 million duty/taxes.

The adjudication decided all the cases in favour of Hyderabad Anti-Smuggling Organisation, Dry Port and Customs Intelligence and Investigation.

During the said period, the collector heard the cases of seized items including 240 drums of black oil, 8 six wheeler vehicles, 19 Hino Trucks, concrete transit mixer and a land cruiser.

The adjudication issued an Order-in-Original (ONO) in favour Hyderabad ASO in a case of impounded Toyota Land Cruiser recovering duty/taxes amounting to Rs 1.98 million.

In another case, the collector decided case No. 15 related to 19 Hino Trucks in favour of Hyderabad Customs Dry Port and recovered duty/taxes amounting to Rs 14.55 million.

Collector Imtiaz Ahmed also heard the case of 8 six wheeler vehicles and issued ONO in favour of Hyderabad Customs, besides recovering Rs 6.62 million in wake of duty/taxes.

Furthermore, it settled a case regarding the seizure of 240 drums of black oil, which was made by Customs Intelligence and recovered Rs 4.19 million.
