Hyderabad: Customs I&I seizes contraband goods worth Rs11.92 million in third quarter

HYDERABAD: Model Customs Collectorate Hyderabad Intellegence and Investigation wing confiscated different items worth Rs 11.92 million during third quarter of current fiscal year 2014-15.

Sources said that I&I Hyderabad on the strict instruction of Directorate General Customs Intelligence & Investigation Director Lutfullah Virk and I&I Karachi region Director Asif Marghoob Saddiqui took effective measure to curb the smuggling in the region.

Sources said that MCC Hyderabad seized cloth, non-duty paid vehicles, ceramic tiles, Alloy Rims, Gutkha, smuggled tyres and tubes worth Rs 11.92 million during January-March, third quarter of the year.

I&I Hyderabad team including Supreintendent Ghulam Younas Khan, Supreintendent Muhammad Irfan Khan, Inspector Irfan Ghani and other staff made aforementioned seizures in the region.

I&I officers vowed to curb the smuggling in the region as this menace not only cause loss to national exchequer but also affect the domestic markets negatively.
