Hyderabad Customs impounds huge quantity of non-duty paid tyers

HYDERABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) seized huge quantity  of smuggled tyers worth millions of rupees during an operation.

Sources told Customs Today that following the directions of M Collector Khalid Hussain Jamali, the ASO team conducted various operations in the regions in order to foil the smuggling bids.

Sources told that Additional Collector Dr Aamer Nawaz Hamid credible information about smuggling of non-duty paid tyres. He immediately constituted team comprising ASO In-Charge Syed Momin Hussain Shah , Inspectors Muhammad Iqbal Mughal, Maqbool Ahmed Rind,  Abid Khan, Tarique Khanzada, Sepoys, Abid, Ayuob, Abdul Razaque, Akbar Solongi, Ramzan Malah,  Ahmed , Muhammad Hussain and driver Sher Akbar, Aijaz, Rasheed took part in the operation.

The team raided a godown near Sabzi Mandi and recovered huge quantity of smuggled foreign origin used tyers. The ASO team confiscated the tyers after making seizure report under the prevailing customs laws.

Customs officers said the Hyderabad Customs showed excellent performance regarding the anti-smugglings during said period.

Officials said all possible measures will be taken to curb smugglings in the region as vigilance has also been enhanced. Some other vehicles have also been impounded which include non duty paid vehicle  Toyota car, Toyota Hilux Surf, Toyota and a land cruiser and other goods items including cloths, cosmetic and tyers  during the month of April 2019 , the team comprising  inspectors Abdul Majeed Barich, Maqbool Ahmed Rind, Haresh Kumar, and other staff in the action.  However, an Iranian smuggled diesel is caught by tanker Whose ASO team has begun investigating.
