Hyderabad customs seizes viscose cloths priced Rs888470

HYDERABAD: The Customs Filed Investigation Unit Hyderabad has confiscated non-duty paid 01120 kg of gents’ viscose cloths worth Rs888470 involving duty and taxes of Rs404392. The offending vehicle was going from Peshawar to Karachi when the operation was carried out on Hala Naka in Hyderabad.

Official source told Customs Today that illegally imported goods were seized following a tip-off received through Director Customs Karachi Tahir Qureshi.

Prior to the seizure, the official asked the driver to show documents regarding the legal import and lawful possession of the recovered item but he failed to prove anything. So the official confiscated the item. Now the case will be sent to the customs adjudication.

The confiscated item will be deposited into the state warehouse in Hyderabad under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent Qasim Ali Alvi.

The customs intelligence team comprised Inspector Irfan Ghani, Sepoys Musrat Ali Shah, Sikander Malah, Noshad Khan, Azam Ali Chandio, Muhammad Imran, Moin Khan, Ghayas Ahmed, Janib Krub, Haneef Somroo and others.
