Hyderabad Customs vows to achieve another record in 2Q

HYDERABAD: The Collector Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Hyderabad Akhlaq Ahmed Khattak has vowed to set another record in the second quarter after surpassing the revenue targets of the first quarter of the financial year 2017-2018.

The Collector MCC Hyderabad has set eyes to achieve another record after success in the first quarter of financial year 2017-2018 of surpassing the revenue target in respect of Customs Duty, Sales Tax and Federal Excise Duty as well as overall target for the first quarter of the current financial year, the Additional Collector MCC Hyderabad Dr. Aamir Nawaz informed APP on Tuesday

Giving details of the success in the first quarter of the financial year, he informed that the MCC had achieved 35 percent growth in collection by getting  Rs. 3.362 billion against the target of Rs. 2.491 billion assigned by the Federal Board of Revenue.

The MCC Hyderabad has collected 58 percent more revenue as compared to the revenue of Rs. 2.122 billion which collected during the corresponding period of the previous Financial Year, he said.

The MCC Hyderabad was assigned the target of Rs. 711.47 million in respect of Customs Duty during the financial year 2017-2018 and it collected Rs. 721.729 million as compare to 581.266 million against the target of Rs/ 632 million in the financial year 2016-2017, he informed.

In respect of the Sales Tax, he informed that the MCC Hyderabad has received the target of Rs. 1685.7 million during the financial year 2017-2018 and it collected Rs. 2546.707 million whereas in the first quarter of financial year 2016-2017 MCC Hyderabad had the target of Rs. 2760 million and collection stood at Rs. 1453.004 million.

In respect of Withholding Tax, Dr. Aamir Nawaz informed that MCC Hyderabad received the target of Rs. 90.99 million during the financial year 2017-2018 and it collected Rs. 84.924 million as compared to target of Rs. 47 million in the financial year 2016-2017 and collection of Rs. 85.036 million.

In respect of Federal Excise Duty, he informed the MCC Hyderabad received the target of Rs. 3.63 million in the financial year 2017-2018 and collected Rs. 8.808 million as compared to financial year 2016-2017 when it received target of Rs. 10.1 million and collected Rs. 3.335 million.

During the first quarter of the financial year 20-17-2018, he informed that MCC Hyderabad has collected Rs. 336.168 million in respect of Customs Duty, Sales Tax, Withholding Tax and Federal Excise Duty against the received target of Rs. 2491.79 million as compared to financial year 2016-2017 when it received target of Rs. 3449.1 million and collected Rs. 2122.641 million.
