Hyderabad FIU confiscates various smuggled goods valued Rs12.1 in Feb.

HYDERABAD: The Field Intelligence Unit (FIU) seized various non-duty paid goods worth Rs12.1million involving duty/taxes of Rs7.6million during February 2017.

The seized goods include a vehicle Toyota coaster, foreign origin 26 rolls of cushion sofa cloths, 120 sacks of black pepper and 138 bundles of smuggled white cumin.

According to the FIU, Shaukat Ali ordered foiling of various attempts of transportation of smuggled goods. During the month of February 2017, the FIU confiscated a vehicle Toyota coaster of 26 setter with registration No: JF-7580 worth Rs 2.5million involving duty/taxes of Rs6.1million, foreign origin 26 rolls of cushion sofa cloths worth Rs600000 involving duty and taxes of Rs113790, smuggled goods of 120 sacks of Indian black pepper worth Rs3.3million involving duty and taxes of Rs957593 and smuggled item of 138 bundles of white cumin worth Rs5.7million involving duty and taxes of Rs503507 during above said period.

The operations were conducted under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent Qaim Ali Alvi. Other staff comprised Inspectors Irfan Ghani, Anees Khan, Ahmed Hussain Junejo, Sepoys Moin Khan, Noshad Khan, Muhammad Imran, Azam Ali Chandio, Aslam Chohan, Sikandar Mallah, Mussarat Shah, Ghayas Ahmad Shah, Hawaldar Rao Abdul Sattar, Drivers Muhammad Hanif Somroo and Rao Abdul Sattar.
