Hyderabad FIU seizes four cartons of non-duty paid cigarette

HYDERABAD: The Customs Investigation and Intelligence, Field Investigation Unit (FIU) confiscated non-duty paid foreign origin Ruby cigarette in an operation.

According to the details, a team of FIU following tip-off received by Deputy Superintendent Qaim Ali Alvi established a check post near bypass Halanaka to hold non-duty paid cigarette. The team comprising Sepoyes Noshad Khan, Azam Ali, Imran Ali, Ghiasuddin and Musrat Shah under the supervision of Customs intelligence officer Irfan Ghani intercepted a public vehicle at the said check post. The team recovered four non-duty paid cartons of Ruby brand slim cigarette. The confiscated cigarette is said to be worth Rs 200, 000 involving duty/ tax amounting to Rs 79,668. The ASO staff asked the possessor to produce documents regarding the possession and transportation of the cigarette. After his failure the ASO team seized the cigarette.
