Hyderabad I&I seizes smuggled diesel & vehicle worth Rs4.859m

HYDERABAD: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Sukkur region seized Iran origin diesel and vehicles being used for transportation. Value of seized diesel along with oil tanker comes to Rs4.950 million.

Sources said that under the supervision of Director Muhammad Saleem Memon received credible information about smuggling of diesel. He directed all anti-smuggling squads to enhance vigilance on the suspects routes to thwart any attempt of smuggling..

In this regard, a team under the supervision of Deputy Director. Shakeel Ahmed of Range office Sukkur was directed for active surveillance on the movement of the smuggled diesel.

On receipt of credible information that huge quantity of Iran origin diesel would be transported from Khuzdar to Shahdad Kot the team of Range office Sukkur with little resources put active surveillance and successfully intercepted an oil tanker and recovered 15,000 litres of diesel under the garb of fake/duplicate documents.
