Hyderabad I&I recovers smuggled fuel & vehicles worth Rs27m

HYDERABAD: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (l&l) has recovered huge quantity of smuggled fuel. The total CIF value of goods is Rs14.8 million and three vehicles is Rs27 million.

Sources told Customs Today that credible Information was passed through Director Saleem Memon regarding movement of smuggled fuel. He immediately directed Deputy Director Shakil Ahmad who constituted an anti-smuggling squad to thwart the attempt.

It Is pertinent to mention here that Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Hyderabad with meager human resources of 23 sepoys having vast jurisdiction of Sindh Province excluding civil divisions of Karachi, Thatta and Sajawal on its own made seizure of one Oil Tanker carrying smuggled HSD at Hyderabad and two trucks of essential commodities i.e. sugar (30-MT) and wheat flour (35-MT) within last three days.
