Hyderabad I&I seizes auto parts worth Rs6.50m

HYDERABAD: Customs Intelligence & Investigation seized different parts of vehicle engine worth Rs6.50  million included truck being used in smuggling.

Sources told Customs Today, that Director I&I Fayyaz Anwar received credible information that a truck along with smuggled different type of smuggled engine parts is heading towards Sibbi, and the vehicle will be crossed through Hyderabad Bypass.

Accordingly, a customs team established check post near Pakka Qilla Road and intercepted truck bearing registration noGB-8301.

The vehicle was stopped and checking assorted various type of engine parts include (vehicle shower and other things) was found in the truck.

The claimants of the goods failed to produce any documentary evidence of legal import/possession of the goods.

Thus, it stands established that the goods were brought into the country through unauthorized routes without payment of duty and taxes.

The goods have been seized, worth of truck used in smuggling worth Rs1.8 million, total worth of items Rs6.50 million. Initial investigations are still underway.
