Hyderabad I&I seizes non-customs paid goods worth Rs7.24m during crackdown

HYDERABAD: Directorate of Customs Intelligence & Investigation seized non duty paid black tea and different kinds of juices worth Rs7.24 million included vehicle being used for smuggling.

Sources told Customs Today, that information was received through Director Fayyaz Anwar  that a small truck along with different type of non-duty paid juices and black tea from Kalat to Hyderabad Bypass , Accordingly, customs I&I team established a check post near highway and intercepted a vehicle being registration no: BN-978.

During checking assorted various type of non-duty paid different kinds of Iranian juices, and 30 bundles of black tea found in the truck.

Sources told that owners of these goods failed to produce any documentary evidence of legal import/possession of the goods. Thus, it stands established that the goods were brought into the country through unauthorized routes without payment of duty and taxes.

The goods have been seized while the worth of truck which was being used in smuggling amounting to Rs.7.24 million. Source said team are investigating this case, after investigate FIR will be submit against smugglers.

It is necessary to mention here that Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation expedited its efforts to curb smuggling attempts in the region.
