KOLKATA: While the launch of the updated Hyundai Verna is still two weeks away, the Korean carmaker has started taking pre-orders for the car in India. One can now pre-book the Verna sedan by paying a token amount of Rs. 21,000 at any Hyundai dealership across the nation.

Like we reported earlier, the updated Verna will look similar to the Russian version of the mid-sized sedan – Solaris – and will get some mechanical updates as well. The refurbished model of the Verna gets a new front fascia with new grille, newly designed head-lamps with integrated projectors, new fog lamps with LED strips, and a new bumper.

The rear profile of the car too is expected to receive quite a few changes such as revised tail-lamps with integrated LEDs and a new bumper. Other new features on offer will be new alloy wheels, slightly modified door handles and additional chrome.

Though the cabin might remain largely similar to the outgoing model, the facelifted model might get new upholstery for seats, new infotainment system and some other additional features.

Besides updated exterior and new features, the updated Verna might also get slightly modified suspension system to help the vehicle handle uneven roads even better. The vehicle might also get slightly tuned steering wheel for better feedback.

That said, the vehicle’s engine options might remain unchanged. It will continue to feature the existing petrol (1.4-litre & 1.6-litre) and diesel (1.4-litre petrol & 1.6-litre diesel) powertrains.
