ICCI delegation calls on EOBI deputy director general

ISLAMABAD: A delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) led by its President Khalid Iqbal Malik met with Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institution Islamabad Deputy Director General Kaleem Pervez Bhutta to discuss the issues of traders due to the suspension of work on EOBI’s under construction projects I-8 Markaz, Islamabad.

Senior Vice President Khalid Malik, Vice President Tahir Ayub, Raja Fayaz Gul, Traders Welfare Association I-8 Markaz Secretary General Zahid Mahmood Qureshi and others were included in the delegation.

Khalid Iqbal Malik said that due to court case, under construction projects of EOBI are lying suspended in I-8 Markaz since long due to which the business activities in that market are taking a heavy toll. He said heavy construction machinery and building materials of the project have occupied footpaths, parking lots and green areas in the market due to which customers are hesitating from visiting business centre. He urged the till the start of work on this project, heavy construction machinery and building material may be removed from the market to facilitate the growth of business activities. He said out of court solution of this problem should be explored

said that the building materials and heavy machinery made street lights faulty resulting many challenges of robbery and the Business and development activities of the Markaz have also stopped resulting a great loss of the Business Community. He stressed that the building materials and heavy machinery must be removed from the area till the project resume and said that the issue of EOBI’s project must be solved outside the court as soon as possible to regularize the business activities of the area.

President and Secretary General of TWA I-8 Markaz have said that the because of the suspension of EOBI’ project the markaz also faces security threads and the building materials and heavy machinery have divided the Markaz resulting into a negative impact on business activities. They said that we are visiting CDA and other related institution to solve the business related issues of the area from two years but no fruitful result have appeared yet. They stressed that EOBI should solve the issue of the construction of the project outside the court by mutual cooperation to secure the Business Community from further loss.

Deputy Director General Kaleem Pervez Bhutta told to the delegation that the we are aware of the negative impact of the suspended project of EOBI on business activities and assured of his support to the Business Community. He said that the role of ICCI is very important in solving the issues of Business Community and added that the meeting of ICCI office bearer with Chairman EOBI would be affective. He told at the occasion that most of the problems of Business Community of I-8 Markaz are related to CDA, an high level meeting with CDA’ official would be effective and EOBI would assist the Business Community in this matter.
