ICCI delegation visits PAC Kamra to explore role for private sector in aviation industry

ISLAMABAD: A delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) led by its President Atif Ikram Sheikh visited Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC), Kamra on 28 July, 2016 to explore the role of private sector in the indigenous promotion of aviation industry.

Air Marshal Arshad Malik, Chairman Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) Board, Kamra briefed the ICCI delegation about the role of PAC in strengthening Pakistan Armed forces by meeting the aviation industry needs of the country. He said that Pakistan has achieved tremendous progress in indigenous production of aircraft and the country has great potential to promote exports of defense products.

He encouraged private sector to explore possibilities of collaboration in aviation industry. A comprehensive presentation about the activities of PAC was given to ICCI delegation which was very informative as it indicated the potential areas of public-private partnership in the aviation sector.

ICCI delegation visited various components of Pakistan Aeronautical Complex to see the possibilities of private sector collaboration in the various manufacturing activities.

Speaking at the occasion, Atif Ikram Sheikh, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry thanked the Chairman PAC and his team for according warm welcome and extending great hospitality to ICCI delegation.

He was very much optimistic that encouraging approach of Chairman PAC and continuous interaction between the two organizations would be instrumental in carving out a way forward for private sector in indigenous promotion of aviation industry.
