BOISE COUNTY: Boise County deputies arrested two people after they seized and destroyed more than $100,000 worth of marijuana plants last week.
The growers, Rob Carrico and Jeanna Carrico, were arrested with felony charges after the Boise County Sheriff’s Office obtained a search warrant and found a large marijuana operation.
Officials estimated there was more than $172,000 worth of marijuana plants inside the home and an outbuilding 100 feet away from the residence. Dale Rogers, Boise County chief deputy, says the amount of marijuana plants and other evidence leads them to believe this marijuana production has been ongoing for several years.
Police say an elaborate water system and a large gas generator aided the plants’ growth with well-water lines inside the home. Inside the outbuilding were two large growing tents with watering, lighting and drying systems for mass-marijuana production.
The Boise County Sheriff’s Office obtained personal items that they believed were connected to the pot production such as several vehicles, recreational vehicles, firearms and money. Offcers say these items, along with the property and home, might be subject to civil forfeiture.
Rogers says over the past 10 years, Boise County has removed thousands of marijuana plants from illegal growers valuing up to $200 million.
