DUBAI: Dubai Customs has been crowned at the top of the world’s innovation and creativity realms upon winning the grand prize from Ideas UK Association for the year 2014; hence becoming the first government entity in the globe to receive this prestigious recognition.
Dubai Customs also secured the platinum level accreditationfor implementing suggestions system . DC is the first government department of its kind to earn such accreditationworldwide for the fifth consecutive year, with a full score for two successive years.
Dubai Customs was awarded the “Grand Idea of the Year” award for its recent famous invention, Al-Kashif Vehicle – the first of its kind innovation in the Middle East and the whole world. The Al-Kashif idea has been adopted in many countries worldwide.
Introduced 72 years ago by Ideas UK, the “Grand Idea of the Year” trophy is the world’s first-rate acknowledgment in the area of innovations and suggestions. It is annually presented to the best organization worldwide in the field.
The awarding ceremony was held by Ideas UK Association and brought together several government and private organizations from around the globe, including 9 public and private institutions representing the UAE.

Ahmed MahboobMusabih received the team that represented Dubai Customs in the recent Ideas UK Conference and Awards event. The team was headed by Hussain Fardan, Manager of Suggestions and Complaints Department, Mohammed Al Khanjari, inventor of Al-Kashif vehicle, Abdullah Hussain, communication networks idea owner; Salim Al Jabti, cameras idea owner. Ahmed Mahboobpraised the team’s outstanding efforts which culminated in DC winning the Grand Prize on a world stage.
Ahmed Mahboob affirmed that DC will continue developing its award-winning Suggestions System, adding that “this will be among the organization’s top priorities for the next stage in order to increase efficacy of customs performance using employees’ creative ideas aiming to leverage our services and operations.”
