IESCO reduces outages hours from 5 to 2 a day, 5pm to 7pm, for industries, ICCI told

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Electricity Supply Company (IESCO) has reduced the duration of power outages for the industrial sector from five hours to two hours a day i.e. from 5pm to 7pm to facilitate the production growth.

This was disclosed by IESCO Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Malik Yousaf Awan. Led by its President Muzzamil Hussain Sabri, a delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) called on the CEO and informed him about the business community’s issues with regard to loadshedding.

Talking to the businessmen, he said that the company had slashed the duration of power cuts for industry and is also considering introducing an SMS service for the consumers to enable them to lodge complaints through messaging service.

He praised IESCO role in smooth promotion of trade and industry and hoped that it will play positive role in reducing the electricity related problems of businessmen. He also lauded the IESCO decision to provide further relief to consumers in fuel price adjustment as it will reduce great burden on the common man by reducing electricity bills.
