ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) will resume the hearing of a tax reference filed by M/s Dewan Cement Limited, challenging a recovery claim made by field office of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Tuesday.
A bench of the IHC comprising Justice Aamer Farooq will hear the case. M/s Dewan Cement Limited had filed the reference against a show cause notice issued by the Large Taxpayers Unit, Islamabad.
The company submitted before the court that the FBR notice did not hold lawful grounds and be declared illegal and without any lawful authority and an interim stay may be granted against recovery proceedings.
M/s Dewan Cement had also prayed the court to decide the case early as the appellant had to bear financial complications after the case.
The ATIR, the FBR, officers of LTU including Commissioner Inland Revenue, and others were made respondents in the case.
The bench had adjourned the hearing last after hearing brief arguments by the sides.
