IHC adjourns hearing of customs references until March 21

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed M/s Bestway Cement Limited to submit documents relating to its custom reference challenging the decision of the Customs Appellate Tribunal.

A division bench of the IHC comprising Justice Noor ul Haq N Qureshi and Justice Athar Minallah heard the case and found that some documents were missing on the part of the appellant.

The bench, after hearing brief arguments, directed the counsel for M/s Bestway Cement Limited to provide related record in the court by the next hearing.

Meanwhile, the bench also heard a customs reference filed by Haidri Beverages (Private) Limited and adjourned its hearing till March 21.

Haidir Beverages and M/s Bestway Cement had filed these references challenging tribunal’s decision before the high court.

The appellant had also made party to officers of Large Taxpayer’s Unit and Regional Tax Office (RTO), Islamabad.
