ISLAMABAD: A single bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday adjourned the hearing of a petition challenging appointments, postings and transfers of members of the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR).
A single bench of the IHC comprising Justice Aamer Farooq heard the case filed through advocate Nasim Sikandar. The bench adjourned the hearing following absence of the counsels from the court.
The court also directed the sides to ensure their presence before the bench on coming Monday (June 20). The appellant has prayed the court to declare the notification of postings and transfers of individuals working as members of tribunal without having been appointed in accordance with relevant laws and the rules framed.
Petitioner submitted that around 16 members has not been appointed at the tribunal in accordance with the provisions of the Civil Servants Act, 1973, the Civil Servants (Appointment, Promotion and Transfer) Rules 1973, the Federal Public Service Commission Ordinance 1977 and the Government Servants (Application for Services and Posts) Rules.
