IHC adjourns hearing of tax reference filed by Pakistan Oil Field against ATIR, FBR

ISLAMABAD: A division bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday adjourned the hearing of a tax reference involving the Federal Board of Revenue and the Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue.

The IHC division bench comprising Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard the case and adjourned the case with directions for the lawyers to conclude arguments on the next hearing to be held on October 27.

M/s Pakistan Oil Field Limited had filed the reference against ATIR and had challenged its announcement before the court. The FBR field office, Large Taxpayers Unit’s officers were also made respondent in the case.

The appellant had submitted that ATIR had maintained decision of LTU adjudication in ignorance of law and the appellant’s submissions were not addressed completely challenging recovery of outstanding tax amount.
