IHC relisted four customs matters filed against ATIR on Tuesday

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court on Wednesday relisted four customs matters filed against Customs Appellate Tribunal and Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue.

A citizen, M Anwar Khan had filed four customs references against Customs Appellate Tribunal and Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue. IHC division bench comprising Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani was hearing the matters.

Meanwhile another bench also dated in office hearing of cases submitted by M/s Pakistan Tobacco Company Limited. The bench also heard another tax matter filed by M/s Pakistan Tobacco Company Limited. The appellant had filed a case challenging a show cause notice issued by the Large Taxpayers Unit, Islamabad.

M/s Pakistan Tobacco Company Limited had contested show cause notices issued by the field offices of Federal Board of Revenue.

According to details, M/s Pakistan Tobacco Company Limited had challenged recovery notice issued to it in head of outstanding sales tax by the LTU, Islamabad.

M/s Pakistan Tobacco Company Limited had submitted that the department had issued the demand for the tax year 2010 in head of sales tax.

Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), officers of LTU including commissioner Inland Revenue, commissioner Inland Revenue (Appeals) and Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR) were made respondent in the case.
