IHC seeks original draft of  ATIR decision to help court

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court directed Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR) to submit original draft of its decision in order to decide fate of a petition challenging tribunal’s decision.

IHC Division Bench comprising of Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui and Justice Mohsin Khtar Kayani heard couple of tax references which were filed by Pakistan Television Corporation Limited through it counsel Muhammad Idrees and Saeed Afridi.

IHC bench, after hearing brief arguments from both sides directed the respondent to submit its original decision in order to help court.

The bench also heard a case filed by a citizen M Asif through his counsel Sardar Anzar Iqbal against ATIR and adjourned its hearing.

Another customs reference, challenging Customs Appellate Tribunal, Islamabad, hearing was adjourned till third week of February. A citizen, Manzoor Ahmed had challenged tribunal’s decision about customs duty imposition at IHC through his counsel Naeem Qazi.
