ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday, summoned Director Intelligence & Investigation of Inland Revenue in-person in a case regarding the FBR raid on the head office of the National Testing Service (NTS).

During the course of proceedings, Adnan Randawa, counsel for the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) apprised the court that in compliance with court orders, copies of the seized record had been handed over to the NTS management, however, the original record would be in hand of the FBR to investigate the financial affairs of NTS.

Murtaza Pirzada, counsel for the NTS, alleged that Inland Revenue Department seized all 45 computers, whereas the financial record was saved in only 4 computers. The rest of the computers were pertaining to just test-related records, he added.

He explained that due to the seizure of their record, functions of the testing service had been disrupted and it was facing hurdles in the release of the candidates’ results. He requested the bench to direct the authorities to return their records that were irrelevant to the financial deeds so that the results of the tests could be announced.
