IHC to hear tax references filed by companies against FBR today

ISLAMABAD: A single bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) will hear plenty of tax references carrying complaints against the field offices of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Thursday (today).

The IHC judge, Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, would hear the cases. Administrator of the Islamabad Club had filed a case in which the FBR was made the main respondent.

M/s Capital Strategies Group (Private) Limited and M/s Wateen Telecom Limited, through three references, had submitted complaints against officials of the Large Taxpayers Unit, including the Commissioner Inland Revenue and his assistant.

M/s Halmore Power Generation Company Limited had challenged show cause notice issued by the Regional Tax Office and had named the commissioner and others in its case. Most appellants had challenged different tax recovery claims by the FBR field offices.
