IHC will hear eight tax references today

ISLAMABAD: Two division benches of the Islamabad High Court  (IHC) will hear eight tax references on Thursday (today).

A division bench comprising Justice Noor-Ul-Haq N Qureshi and Justice Aamer Farooq will hear seven income tax matters filed by MND Exploration and Production Limited. The company had filed these petitions against Appellate Tribunal Inland Revenue (ATIR).

A division bench comprising Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb would hear a tax reference filed by M/s IESCO, challenging a decision of the ATIR.

The same bench on Wednesday also adjourned the hearing of a case filed by M/s Telenor LDI Communications (Private) Limited. The petitioner filed three tax references before the IHC in which it had challenged decisions of the ATIR. Besides the ATIR, officers of the Federal Board of Revenue were also made respondents in the cases. Hearing was adjourned following absence of counsels from the court.
