I&I-FBR submits FIR in smuggling of 54,863 liters HSD oil

KARACHI: Directorate General Intelligence & Investigation-FBR submitted first information report (FIR) along with two suspects before the customs court, who were nominated in a case of attempting to smuggle 54,863 liters high speed diesel worth Rs7,022,464.

On 11 February 2020, investigation officer produced the suspects namely Naqeel Ullah son of Aslam Khan (driver) and Sami Ullah son of Ata Ullah before the court and informed that on actionable information customs officials intercepted a Nissan Oil Tanker bearing registration no C-1077 and recovered 54,863 liters (approx) market value of Rs7,022,464.

He said that during the search, customs officials asked the driver for lawful documents, however, they failed to provide any lawful documents, therefore, goods were seized and both suspects were taken into customs custody.

Investigation officer argued that prosecution needs further investigation and arrest of others to be ascertained during investigation, therefore, court may grant their physical remand, after the hearing, court granted their physical remand and directed investigation officer to produce them on next date of hearing along with progress report.

According to the prosecution case was registered against them for violation under section 2(s) 32, 121, 128 & 178 of the customs act, 1969 punishable under clauses 8, 14, 63, 64, 89, 90 of section 156(i) ibid and other related laws.
