I&I IR Multan detects sales tax evasion of Rs100m by two paper manufacturing factories

MULTAN: Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Inland Revenue (IR) Multan has detected sales tax evasion of two unregistered paper manufacturing factories  worth  Rs100 million in their action.

The Federal Board of Revenue has directed Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Inland Revenue to take stern action against tax evaders and unregistered businesses. Director Intelligence and Investigation Inland Revenue Zubair Bilal received secret information that paper manufacturing factories were producing paper near Industrial Estate area Multan.

Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation Inland Revenue Multan traced paper manufacturing mill in the Industrial Estate and recovered huge quantity of manufactured paper.

In another action Intelligence and Investigation Inland Revenue Multan has also detected another paper mills near Kabirwala. Said manufacturer was evading sales tax and was not paying any duty taxes on the said manufacturing of paper. Intelligence and Investigation Inland Revenue Multan is taking strict action against tax evaders in the jurisdiction. Local police were also called for assistance during crackdown of Intelligence and Investigation Inland Revenue.

Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation detained the records, ledgers, accounts, computers, laptops and inventory details for further investigation. About tax evasion of Rs.10.45 million was detected during preliminary interrogation of Intelligence and Investigation Inland Revenue.
